“You Deserve to Be Happy”

As you read this I’ll bet you are like most people: You have some areas of your life where you are incredibly happy, but you have a couple areas where you just can’t seem to put the pieces together to find the success and happiness you desire. You deserve to be happy.

Some people struggle with believing that last sentence. Maybe you are one of them. Maybe after trying so hard to get success and happiness in your life you’ve decided to give up–that for some reason happiness is beyond your grasp.

For the last 27 years I have studied success, motivation and happiness. It began as a personal quest for the most fulfilling, most beneficial to others, life I could lead; but over time it became a quest to figure out what produces happiness in “average” people–people just like you and me.

Over the years I have spoken to over 200,000 people live and millions have read my articles helping them to find higher levels of happiness and contentment in their own lives.

I took two years to survey 8,491 people to refine a definition of success that would apply to virtually everyone–even you. Here’s one of the first things I discovered–it’s something you know already, but it will give some perspective:

“Money Alone Doesn’t Make You Happy”

While being rich alone won’t make you happy, the time and life freedom from having a huge, secure, part-time income will go a long way toward making your life happier on almost every level. That’s one of the reasons you have probably read some books or listened to tapes or watched videos trying to learn how to make money. It’s not about the money, it’s about the freedom.

You already know that is just a part of the path–happiness isn’t just being well off financially.

So if just having money isn’t the key to happiness, what is?

“Happiness is Being Free from Cares”

Think about the last “crisis” you went through–whether it was a bill you didn’t know how to cover, not enough time for your family, a broken relationship or even guilt over some action you took that wasn’t consistent with your inner personal value system. In each case your happiness was robbed by some pressing concern.

In some cases money does help. But in other cases it takes other types of resources to be happy.

When I surveyed those 8,491 average people just like you, this is what they told me…

Based on that two-year study, your happiness can be broken down into little pieces, one for each area of your life:

Financially happiness is having more than enough
Mentally happiness is having a mind that is sharp, peaceful and optimistic
Physically happiness comes when our bodies are healthy, fit and attractive
Spiritual happiness comes when we are living in tune with our personal values and beliefs
Family success is when our loved ones are happy and healthy
Social success is when we are giving and receiving appropriate help, love and encouragement

Sure there will be trials and bumps along the way, but you can easily see consistently having these things in your life will consistently make you happy–and if happiness isn’t success, what is?

You buy things because you know those things will make enrich your happiness. You pursue relationships because you believe those relationships will make you happier. You lose weight, discipline your children, invest in the stock market, practice your religious beliefs and even help others because you believe on some level you are fulfilling a personal need.

But as you have pursued happiness and success you have also discovered a problem…

“You Need Just Two Things”

Here is your problem: You don’t yet have all the ingredients you need to succeed. Think about it: Success in any area means you need two things and just two things.

You need information and motivation. “What to do and the will to do it.”

You have a couple areas where you are naturally motivated. Without any help you will likely find success in those areas. For me I am naturally motivated in the areas of family, friends and making money. Even if I got no outside help, I would naturally find success in those areas.

The same is true for you. You have a couple areas where success seems to come easily. But like everyone else, you have a couple areas of life where you need instruction and motivation help from others–and you’re about to get it.
